Final ruling of COA:
NGC not overpriced

BY CARLA GOMEZ

“The top bosses of the Commission on Audit have spoken:the Bacolod New Government Center was not overpriced, and this should once and for all, put to rest all questions about the NGC.”

The statement issued by former Bacolod City Mayor and now Bacolod Rep. Evelio Leonardia yesterday was in reaction to a decision dated Aug. 28, 2014 of the Commission Proper of the Commission on Audit that affirmed the lifting, or setting aside of a Notice of Disallowance for P364,831,456.52 for the construction and site development of the Bacolod Government Center.

This COA decision categorically states, among others, that the construction cost of the BGC was reasonable, being within the 10 percent allowable variance allowed under COA rules.moremoremore
