Chief Supt. Josephus Angan has ordered all police commanders in Western Visayas, to monitor closely the activities of their personnel after the reported involvement of police officers in illegal activities.
Angan, the regional police director of Western Visayas, made the reminder after the alleged involvement of nine policemen in a “hulidap” case in Quezon City.
He ordered members of his Command Group at PRO6 and police unit commanders to strictly watch their men by supervising the accounting of personnel, and conducting police operations.
Telecom shop hit by robbers

A telecommunication service store in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental was robbed of about P758,400 worth of cellular phones and cash, Friday, the police said.
Supt. Gary Allan Resuma, La Carlota Police chief, said employees of Globe Telecom were subjected to fingerprint collection by the Provincial Scene of the Crime Operatives.
Fingerprint samples were also gathered from the crime scene and were forwarded to the Crime Laboratory in Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office for examination, Resuma said.
A commotion marred the usually lackluster and peaceful session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dumaguete City yesterday.
The uproar started at around 2:30 p.m., after presiding officer and Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr. had called for a recess, and radio reporter Edmund Sestoso was approached by Police Officer 1 Francis Oliver Maata of the Dumaguete City Police, and served with a Barangay Protection Order.
The BPO ordered Sestoso not to come near Councilor Lilani Ramon, with whom he has a rift over a domestic complaint..
