The Department of Agrarian Reform has distributed P197 million support assistance to 5,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries in southern Negros, under its Agrarian Production Credit Program.
This was revealed yesterday by Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer 1 Ronald Gareza, who accompanied World Bank representatives to a meeting with Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Gareza said that, contrary to claims, the implementation of the agrarian reform program and extending support services to agrarian reform beneficiaries has not stopped.

BSP hikes SDA, key rates anew
MANILA -- Noting that risks to the government’s 2015 inflation target remain despite tightening monetary policy since the start of 2014, Philippine monetary officials yesterday further raised the central bank’s key rates as well as the rate of the special deposit account (SDA) facility.
Rates of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) overnight borrowing or reverse repurchase (RRP) facility, the overnight lending or repurchase (RP) facility, and the SDA facility were increased by 25 basis points to 3.0 percent, 6.0 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively.

Light through the rubble
In creating unique lighting and furniture, Hacienda Crafts stays true to its mission as an envirosocial design company at this year’s 29th Negros Trade Fair at the Glorieta Activity Center in Manila September 24 to 28.
Hacienda Crafts owners Joey Gaston and Christina Borromeo-Gaston always go beyond the limits of home, whether to find sustainable natural raw materials, regional and indigenous weavers, and enlightened designers to magically transform rough vines into urban home fashion, a press release from the Association of Negros Producers said.
This year they went beyond to help devastated communities rise from the rubble.
