A jail guard of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Dumaguete City, dismissed for being Absent Without Official Leave several years ago, was arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 Saturday.
Marvin Masicampo was nabbed after a search of his house at the Cadawinonan housing by the Dumaguete City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, headed by Supt. James Goforth yielded suspected shabu and assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia.
Recovered were three “bultos (packs)” of suspected shabu, five smaller sachets of suspected shabu granules, a sealer, tooter and other illegal drugs paraphernalia.
The police served the search warrant issued by Acting Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Catherine Dato with caution after receiving reports that Masicampo is armed and dangerous.
The search was held in the presence of Cadawinonan kagawad Emily Olivo, City Prosecutor Oscar Bokingkito, and members of the media.*JG
