Bacoleñas capture gold, 2 silver medals Thirteen-year-old Shaira Isabel Garbanzos prevailed over her Vietnamese rival in the final round to capture the gold medal in the 51 kgs. Cadet division of the 12 th ASEAN Taekwondo Federation Championships 2015 held in Ho Chi Minh City. Garbanzos, an incoming Grade 8 student from University of St. La Salle, was one of the three taekwondo jins from the Negros Taekwondo Union, who were tapped to join the national team and represent the country in the tournament. With her were Irene Therese Bermejo and Camille Andrea Miraflores, who bagged the silver medal in their respective events to help the Philippine Team secure a first runner-up finish behind host Vietnam in the competition. |
