WV 5 th largest economy in PH
BUT NOT FOR LONG WITH NIR
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The tremendous investments in public infrastructure and the support given to agriculture, trade and industry and tourism by the Aquino administration has made Western Visayas the fifth largest economy in the country, National Economic and Development Authority  regional director Ro-ann Bacal said yesterday.

Bacal, who was at a Regional Development Council Work Programming and Agenda Setting Workshop for 2015 to June 2016, held at the Business Inn in Bacolod City, said the removal of Negros Occidental from WV would diminish the economic lead of the region.

But she also said, “If to the mind of our national leaders this is for the betterment of the country in general, because there are many things that they take into consideration, then so be it.” The NEDA will support whatever decision is reached, she added. .moremoremore
