P100,000 in ‘shabu' seized
BY SHIELA GELERA

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives seized about P100,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 in Bacolod City, at about 9 a.m. yesterday.

The PDEA agents also arrested Maxzell Aguirre, who is the subject of the buy-bust, and Virgilio Lopez.

More than 20 grams of suspected shabu and P1,000 in cash, including the P100 in marked money, were recovered from Aguirre and Lopez, the PDEA agent, who requested anonymity, said.

Aguirre and Lopez are now detained at Police Station 2.

The agent also said that Aguirre may face charges for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs, while Lopez may be charged for illegal possession of prohibited drugs.

Meanwhile, brothers King and Jessie Bautista, Ranulfo Rendon, Eric Toledo, Efren Fuentes, and Vicente Francisco, were charged yesterday for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the agent said.

The Bautista brothers, Rendon, Toledo, Fuentes and Francisco were nabbed in a buy-bust operation at Punta Capri in Purok Narra-Baybay, Barangay 8, Bacolod, Thursday.

About 60 grams of suspected shabu, with estimated street value of P300,000, were recovered from them.*SGG
