The president is finally coming?
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said he was informed by the Presidential Management Staff that President Benigno Aquino is arriving in Bacolod City on April 30.
The president has been expected since late last year to inaugurate the provincial government's Negros First CyberCentre (NFC) in Bacolod City.
During his visit on April 30, Aquino will inaugurate the NFC, Marañon said, but he has yet to be briefed by the PMS on the rest of the itinerary of the president.
Representatives of the PMS are arriving in Bacolod City today for a site inspection, the governor said.
The president will arrive on the second day of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2015 two-day Roadmap for Resilient Economies meeting in Bacolod City. It is not known if he will drop in on the APEC meeting.
In October last year Aquino was expected in the province to inaugurate three infrastructure projects worth P751.6 million, which the governor had identified as the P630 million four-storey NFC, the P66.5 million three-storey 45-classroom building at the Negros Occidental High School in Bacolod City, and the P55.1 million Negros First Rice Processing Center in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.*CPG
