Ceres tames Soccero,
stays at No. 1 in UFL

Ceres-LaSalle FC bounced back from its Saturday loss against Global to stay on top of the UFL First Division at the end of its first-round of elimination assignments at the Rizal Memorial Complex in Manila Tuesday night.

The Bacolod-based XI dominated Soccero, 4-0, to accumulate 24 points, ahead of second-running Stallion FC, with 21 , and Global, which handed Ceres -La Salle FC its first loss, 0-2.

Global is running third in team standing with 19 points.

Ceres - LaSalle frustrated Socceroo -- which now touts a 1-1-7 card -- with its 28 attempts against the losers' lone shot on target in the match.

Socceroo actually put up a steady defense early but failed to sustain it as

Oladipo Okunaiya broke the ice on the 45+2 minutes for a 1-0 first-half lead.

Patrick Reichelt made it 2-0 on the 47th with Lemuel Unabia scoring the third marker on the 69th.

Nathaniel Burkey capped the Ceres win with his penalty kick on the 82nd minute.*ADC
