Security readied for PNoy visit
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Presidential Security Group and Presidential Management Staff arrived yesterday to lead the security preparations for the visit of President Benigno Aquino III to Bacolod City on April 30.

Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, regional police director of Western Visayas, said yesterday that there is no itinerary yet for the possible visit of the President, although it is being worked out by the PMS and PSG who are now going around the city.

President Aquino has been expected since late last year to inaugurate the provincial government's Negros First CyberCentre (NFC) in Bacolod City.

He is arriving on the second day of the   Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation   2015 two-day Roadmap for Resilient Economies meeting in Bacolod City. It is not known if he will drop in on the APEC meeting.

More than 2,500 police personnel from police units outside Negros Occidental, are expected to beef up security of APEC participants from 22 countries.

Yesterday, Angan briefed Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr. on their security preparations, with both PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines will ensure safety and security of APEC participants.

This is a chance for local government units in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental to showcase the hospitality of our “kasimanwa” to the APEC delegates, he said.*GPB
