Bizman's theft case
vs. 3 at BPI junked

The Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office has dismissed a complaint for qualified theft through falsification of a commercial document filed by a Bacolod businessman against three employees of the Bank of the Philippines Islands.

Dismissed was the complaint filed by businessman Joe Marie Sy against BPI Libertad Branch Bacolod City manager Mario Aguirre, assistant manager Chatalina Milagros Luciano and teller Jose Erwin Mori for insufficiency of evidence to hold them criminally liable for allowing the cashing a P2 million BPI check in the name of Sy on Jan. 2, 2010.

The resolution, signed by Bacolod Deputy City Prosecutor Emmanuel Lope Lupisan, and approved by City Prosecutor Armando Abanado, said the dismissal was without prejudice to its refilling and presentation of additional evidence.moremoremore

PNoy to dialog with
congressmen, mayors

President Benigno Aquino III will hold a dialog with mayors and congressmen of Negros Occidental at the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City during his visit on April 30.

He will be accompanied by Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director General Lilia de Lima.  

This was disclosed yesterday by Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan, who said the Presidential Management Staff and Security Group have been inspecting the projects the president will inaugurate in the province. moremoremore

“We are not closing our doors to the possibility of a one island, one region. But, not at this moment”, Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo said yesterday as he again explained his stand on the need for further consultation with the people of Negros Oriental.

He said there are specific matters to be thoroughly discussed to ensure that the people in Negros Oriental will not be “dehado (disadvantaged).”

Degamo and Secretary Mar Roxas of the Department of Interior and Local Government spent at least an hour in a closed door meeting in Dumaguete City on the proposed Negros Island Region..moremoremore
