Law enforcement agencies tasked in curbing the proliferation of illegal drugs in Negros Oriental were directed to hit hard on suppliers and dealers, especially of shabu, Senior Insp. Ryan Jay Orapa, team leader of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, said.
He said all law enforcement agencies will concentrate in one area that is considered a hot spot for shabu and conduct a saturation drive, before transferring to another hot spot.
The group conducted successive buy-busts operations in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete, recently.
Operatives have observed that after two-months of continuous raids, buy-busts and searches in Sitio Canday-ong, Barangay Calindagan, also in Dumaguete, the pushers and peddlers have transferred location, some in Looc, others in Tinago, and the Cadawinonan housing site.
Two of the latest buy-bust operations were conducted in Looc, where suspect Romeo Fonolera was busted with four sachets of suspected shabu, worth about P24,000, and Joeson Aguilar was arrested with two big packs of “shabu”, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P118,000.*JG
