Love Negros focuses
on bets for 6 districts
BUT NOT READY FOR ANNOUNCEMENT YET
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Love Negros officials met in Bacolod City Saturday to discuss their potential candidates for the first to sixth districts of Negros Occidental for 2016, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday.

But they did not discuss whom they will field for governor and vice governor yet, he added.

“We focused on the status of the six congressional districts of the province. Although we covered a lot of ground, LN is not ready to make an announcement. We will take our time in reaching a decision,” he said.

Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) also refused to give details on the Love Negros meeting Saturday.

“Bear with me, just a little more time,” was his answer when pressed for details.

Benitez, who is the Liberal Party Negros chairman, had the same answer when asked whom he would support for president in 2016.

Among those present at the Love Negros meeting Saturday, aside from Benitez and Lacson, were Rep. Mercedes Alvarez (Neg. Occ., 6th District) and Rep. Stephen Paduano (Abang Lingkod), Board Members Patrick Lacson, Pedro Zayco and Johanna Ko, and mayors Melecio Yap Jr. – Escalante City, Ramon Torres – Bago City, Francis Palanca – Victorias City, Andrew Montelibano – Murcia, and Ella Yulo – Moises Padilla;

Vice mayors Greg Gasataya – Bacolod, Mark Golez – Silay City, Neil Lizares – Talisay City, Jerry Jover – Victorias City, Mary Jane Cubid – Hinobaan, and Gerardo Rojas - Murcia.*CPG
