MANILA – Oil firms will reduce prices today, for the ninth consecutive week.
In separate advisories yesterday, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. (PSPC), Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Inc. (SPI), Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and PTT Philippines said they will cut gas prices by P1.10 per liter and diesel prices by 40 centavos per liter.
PSPC, Petron and Seaoil will apply the price changes at 12:01 a.m. today, while Phoenix Petroleum and PTT Philippines' new rates will take effect at 6 a.m. today. 


APEC finance ministers ready
to tackle financial integration
MANILA - When finance ministers of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies meet in Cebu this September, they will take the first step towards financial integration for the region.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Laura del Rosario said finance officials are set to launch the Cebu Action Plan, a roadmap geared towards making the Asia-Pacific region more inclusive and resilient, when they meet in Cebu on September 9 to 11.
"This is the first time the finance ministers will come up with a roadmap. Cebu will be unique in APEC 2015 because of the Cebu Action Plan. You will be remembered for this," she said during a briefing in Cebu. 


Rattan livelihood training set
A three-day training on rattan production and management will be given to farmers from upland communities by the Provincial Environment Management Office at Mambukal Resort, Murcia, starting today.
Environment Management Specialist-II Luisa Tutor said that 30 farmers will be trained on the status of rattan forest resources, their characteristics and their uses.
Farmers will learn the procedures on establishing a rattan nursery, she said.
