Central Negros Electric Cooperative yesterday announced that its residential rate for its August 2015 billing is P10.5416 per kWh, a P0.2051/kwh increase from last month's P10.3365/kWh.
Although there was a slight decrease in the generation charge of P0.004/kWh, this was offset by the upward adjustment in Transmission System Charge, particularly the Ancillary Charges, that shows an increase of 17.85 percent compared to the previous month, a press release from Ceneco general manager Chuchie Destriza said.
The Transmission System Charge contributed P0.0869 to the total increase in the rate. Increase in Value Added Tax also accounts P0.0811 of the increase, the press release added.
Destriza said the Generation Charges and Transmission Charges are pass-through charges being billed to CENECO by its power suppliers and transmission service provider. The Distribution Charges, which are charges pertaining to CENECO, remains constant, she said in her press release.*
