Celebrating Our Lady’s feast

We attended the yearly celebration of the Our Lady of Lourdes at City of Immaculate Urbasa, Escalante on Wednesday.

Balikbayan Nash Savillo is in town to honor his promise to his late brother, Monet Savillo, founder of this famous grotto at the hill in a lush sugar plantation that is known for religious retreats and pilgrimages.

Those who went with us to Urbasa were Bing and Netz Ballesteros, Hermie, Carmela Chua and Virgie Ferrer from California, Chat Berba and Clay Almazor. We arrived just in time for the thanksgiving mass officiated by Fr. Martin.

After the mass, children were baptized, then Nash gave rice, canned goods and candies, followed by a mouthwatering lunch for everyone. We left the place at about 3:30 p.m. and stayed to buy fresh fish in Balintawak.

Nash works as her P.A. for Blaine Trump in the last 15 years and until now. Trump is a famous New York socialite and philanthropist, and her charity is called “God’s Love We Deliver”. She is also co-chair of the American Ballet in New York.

While here, she enjoyed going out and eating native delicacies, and liked her visit to Mambukal Resort in Murcia and Campuestohan in Talisay City very much. She is leaving tomorrow with a heavy heart, but hopes to be back in June 2015.*
