A bride got the shock of her life when her groom was arrested by police intelligence operatives for double murder, shortly after they were married on Feb. 14, or Valentine’s Day, in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, identified as Vicente Servese, 24, of Brgy, Bulanon, Sagay City, was apprehended by virtue of arrest warrants issued by Cadiz Regional Trial Court Judge Renato Nunez for two counts of murder, Police Officer 3 Joshua Barile of the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, said.
The arrest took place at the Wilkinson Social Court in EB Magalona, shortly after the mass wedding activity, Barile said.
Servese was denied bail by Nunez, he added.
Barile said Servese was among the 11 suspects in the brutal killing of Jesus and Jemar Gelantagaan on Jan. 1, 2011 in Brgy. Bulanon, Sagay City.
Police investigations showed that the two victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and fatal injuries in their heads.
The wedding reception of the Servese couple was aborted, as the groom was immediately taken to the EB Magalona Police Station for detention.*GPB
