Ana's Garden Grill and Seafood located at 6th Street in Bacolod City was blessed and inaugurated yesterday.
Owner Ana Maria Ledesma Blardony said her mother and her family are her inspiration for the restaurant.
She said her mother, Ibing Ledesma of Silay City, died when she was 10 years old.
“My mom’s mother owned the first Ilonggo restaurant in New York that was visited by Filipino politicians and movie stars,” she said.
Blardony, who has lived in Manila and abroad, said she is returning to her roots and is proud to make Bacolod her home. She feels her mother is looking down at her smiling, she said.
Ana's Garden Grill and Seafood is located at what used to be Mely’s Garden at 6th Street.
It serves mostly Filipino dishes, including 2-way roasted back ribs, bakareta and calamares.
They also serve their own concoctions, such as tamarind iced tea, camias juice, and choco tablea milk shake, Blardony said.
Their food is “bueno, bonito, barato” because it is affordable without sacrificing on ingredients to ensure that it is really good, she said.
Customers have two options - to order a la carte or go for the turo turo buffet for those who want a good meal in a hurry, she added.*CPG
