ASEAN integration seen
as cross border trade boon

MANILA -- More Philippine businesses can look beyond their borders for growth by implementing cross-border mergers and acquisitions as the region moves to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of 2015.

“ASEAN integration is going to benefit the Philippines and among them through mergers and acquisitions,” Bede Lovell Gomez, Vice President of First Metro Investment Corp., said in an interview.

He said more developed countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand need to tap new consumers and markets for them to become competitive.

PAL offering new service

MANILA-- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines is making online ticket transactions easier to do with a new service that allows passengers to manage flight rebooking and advance seat reservations, a government press release said.

Through  Manage My Booking service, PAL its passengers can purchase online-issued tickets and also add or purchase ancillary items such as choice and forward economy seats.

The new service applies to domestic and international one - way or round - trip tickets issued through www.philippineairlines.com.
