SP seeking clarification The Negros Oriental Sangguniang Panlalawigan has invited the officials of the Energy Development Corporation to appear before the SP this week on the allegations of some environmentalists about the cutting of hundreds of trees and the opening of road networks in Valencia to Dauin, that affect water sources in Mt. Talinis. Vice Governor Mark Macias said the members of the SP would like to know all the facts and allegations by environmentalists groups and the bikers on the cutting of hundreds of trees in Balas-Balas and Lagunao and the proposed opening of a road network in Puhagan, Valencia to Magsaysay, Dauin that allegedly threaten the water sources. Macias also wants to know if the Sanggunian, as a body, is the proper forum for the environmentalists seeking relief. |
