Degamo assures
vehicles for brgys

BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo said his administration will seek funds in order to provide public transportation to residents, especially in remote and hinterland barangays.

He make the assurance Monday when he gave four multi-cabs to barangays Tanglad in Manjuyod, Banban in Mabinay, Cabugan, Bindoy, and Nagbalaye in Sta. Catalina and turned over their keys to barangay officials at the blessing and turnover ceremony in front of the Capitol.

He said the multi-cabs will provide transportation services to residents especially for the poor, in far-flung barangays, and during emergencies, like bringing patients to the hospital.

Degamo said other barangays have already been furnished with similar vehicles.

He promised to give more when funds are available. He also appealed to the barangay officials to take care of the vehicles and ensure their upkeep and added that everyone will be served, regardless of political affiliation.*JFP
