‘My foreigner bf left me’

Dear Tita,

I met my American boyfriend George through the Internet. He seemed like a nice guy even though he told me he was thirteen years older than I and we clicked right away. After a few months, George decided to come and see me in person. I was a bit nervous that he might not find me attractive but the moment he saw me, he looked so glad and I knew he liked me at once. He was so good-looking with his salt and pepper hair and I was proud to introduce him to my friends and relatives. I took him around our place to the nice spots that he liked, especially the beaches where he loved to swim.

We went to Boracay for a couple of days and that is where we made love.

George promised to marry me when he comes back so I willingly gave in to him.

On the day of his departure, he hugged me and kissed me, promising to arrange for my fiancee’s visa so I could follow him to the States. Ibelieved him as I saw he was sincere.

A few days after he left, I sent him an email regarding the documents needed for my visa. He did not reply. I waited and waited but there was no word from him. I then sent him another email asking what happened, but still no reply. After a few weeks, I was in tears wondering why the silence? Was he disappointed in me? My family and friends have been asking about him and I’m too ashamed to admit he just disappeared. I have been sending him emails but no word from him at all. What do I do now?

BROKENHEARTED GIRL

Dear Brokenhearted Girl,

Girl, I hate to tell you this but I think you’ve been had. The guy just took advantage of your youth and your innocence and now he’s dropped you like a hot potato. He must now be busy looking for new girls to victimize. Stop sending him emails. You’re wasting your time and effort. It’s too bad you allowed him to take advantage of your feelings for him. Let this be a lesson to other young girls who are eager to meet their internet boyfriends. Don’t be a victim!

TITA
