Negrenses and Bacoleños, like Filipinos around the country, are staging various activities to welcome Pope Francis on his arrival at the Villamor Airbase at about 5:45 p.m. today from Sri Lanka.

Pope Francis will bring his message of “mercy and compassion” to at least 11 different venues in the province of Leyte and Metro Manila during his five-day Apostolic Visit to the Philippines.

Negros Occidental Acting Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said he hopes the five-day visit to the Philippines of Pope Francis that starts today will further enrich the faith of Filipinos in God.moremoremore
