The province of Negros Occidental, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, will conduct a mobile accreditation in the province on January 26 to 30, intended to encourage global competitiveness and facilitate the promotion of individual enterprise and the tourism industry as a whole, a DOT press release said yesterday.
The DOT is inviting all tourism enterprises such as travel and tour services; land, sea and air transport services for tourist use; tour guides; adventure sports services involving such sports as mountaineering;
Spelunking, scuba diving and other sports, accommodation establishments including but not limited to hotels, resorts, apartelles, tourist inns, motels, pension houses and homestay operators; convention and exhibition organizers; tourism estate management services;
Restaurants, shops and department stores, sports and recreational centers, spas, museums and galleries, theme parks, convention centers and zoo to be accredited with the Department of Tourism.
All Primary tourism enterprise establishments and services under Republic Act 9593, otherwise known as the Tourism Act of 2009, is mandated to apply online through http://www.tourism.gov.ph using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox version 8 browsers to access the Rules and Regulations Governing Accreditation of Tourism Enterprise, documentary requirements are also listed in the same site, the press release said.
DOT will be at the Bacolod City Tourism Office at the Government Center on January 26-27, San Carlos City - January 28, Cadiz City – January 29 and Kabankalan City January 30 to facilitate the processing, inspection and approval of applications for accreditation.
Benefits and incentives of accreditation are the following: endorsement to COMELEC for exemption from liquor ban during election-related events (for accommodation establishments and restaurants), priority to DOT training programs, issuance of DOT ID cards to bonafide employees;
Endorsement to international and domestic airports (if appropriate) for issuance of access pass to qualified personnel (tour operators and accommodation establishments only); qualification for exemption from the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program of the MMDA, endorsement to LTFRB for issuance of tourist transport franchise (tourist transport only) and technical/security/facilitation support or assistance, the press release said.
