Cops corner ‘shabu,
marijuana peddler’

A  woman from  Sitio Canday-ong in Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, was arrested yesterday with two kilos of suspected dried marijuana leaves, stalks and seeds, and several sachets of suspected shabu.

Police identified the suspect as Nora Timonan, of Purok Orchids, Canday-ong, and seized from her house were six bundles of dried marijuana leaves, and nine match boxes of dried marijuana leaves, stalks and seeds, all worth around P85,000, and big bultos of suspected shabu and five small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu granules, worth P100,000.

Also recovered were a weighing scale, empty plastic sachets, cellphones, several pairs of scissors and other illegal drugs paraphernalia.

Armed with a search warrant, City intelligence operatives, headed by Insp. Marvin Fegarido under the supervision of Dumaguete police chief, Supt. James Goforth, swooped down on the house of the suspect.

Timonan vehemently denied ownership of the confiscated items, claiming that  she and her live-in-partner, whose name was not disclosed, were awakened when the police forcibly opened the main door and barged into her house.*JG
