Medical mission
held in Victorias

More than 500 residents of Barangay 11 (Gawahon) in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, were beneficiaries of the last medical mission for 2014 of the Leisure and Resorts World Corporation and the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation, with the assistance of the Office of Congressman Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District), a press release from his office said.

BBBF executive director Mary Ann Dino said the Gawahon project included activities for the children in the community as part of the Christmas outreach thrust of LRWC, BBBF and the Congressional District Office.

A total of 277 medical and dental patients were treated by volunteer doctors Margarita Aparra, Josephine Ferraris, Michelle Amador and Raymund Romeo Hesmania. The Victorias City government, headed by Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, also assistance the activity, the press release also said.

Around 250 children received gifts from the LRWC, represented by Vicente Lucasan, BBBF, the Bacolod Yesol Lions Club, represented by Steven Paul Dacles and Linde Mae Ybanez, and Lalaine Paduano, wife of Rep. Stephen Paduano (Abang Lingkod).

The activity was hosted by Barangay 11 Captain Rogelio Barnueva and other officials, and the Gawahon Elementary School, headed by principal Guillerma Vargas, the press release also said.*
