STI-WNU battles UNO-R as
OroPhil cagefest kicks off

Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association 2014 men’s basketball champion, STI-West Negros University,will face runner-up University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos tomorrow as competition begins in the 1st OROHIL Shipping-VMA Global College Basketball Open Tournament at VMAGC Gym at Barangay Sum-ag in Bacolod City.

The re-enactment of the NOPSSCEA finals between the STI-WNU Mustangs and UNO-R Rams is is set at 4 p.m. following the curtain raiser between host VMA Global College and Total at 2:30 p.m..

On Sunday, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay and VMAGC will clash at 2 p.m. followed by the match-up between Computer Solutions and Total at 3:30 p.m.

Jomalesa in NCAA 14U
basketball Mythical Five

Former University of ST. La Salle-Integrated School Baby Stinger Lance Benedict Jomalesa, who now dons the colors of San Beda College Red Cubs, was named into the Mythical Five Selection of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 90 14 & Under basketball in Manila.

Jomalesa, who joined the Red Cubs on May 2014, made his mark in NCAA Season 90 as he helped his team get past their rivals from different high school in Manila en route to the final showdown against eventual champion La Salle Greenhills Greenies.

The Red Cubs and the Greenies disputed the title on January 11 at the San Juan de Letran Gym with the La Sallians bagging the crown and the Bedans settling for first runner-up honors.
