Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella and Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya have announced that they are seeking reelection in 2016.
When asked about speculation of a possible Puentevella-Gasataya tandem in 2016, Puentevella said what he can only admit is that he and the vice mayor have a very good relationship. He said elections are still very far but right now he is thankful to Gasataya for doing a good job.
“We will talk about politics when it is time to decide,” Puentevella said.
Asked if he is considering Gasataya as a possible running mate, Puentevella said he is considering all of them.
Puentevella also claimed that he is in good terms with former vice mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, former councilor Homer Bais, and Councilor Alex Paglumotan.
He said, however, he will definitely have his own congressman.
Gasataya said he will still be running for vice mayor and his intention is only to continue what he is doing.
He is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition, and will abide by whatever decision the party makes as long as it will be fair to everyone, he said.
He will just continue to work and as they only have about nine months before the filing of certificates of candidacy, Gasataya said.
They will always stick to the decision of the party, he added.*CGS
