Farm vehicles torched
BY GILBERT BAYORAN
Eight men claiming to be New People’s Army rebels, burned and destroyed two cargo trucks and two tractors owned by the Universal Starch Corp. in Hacienda Cabiguhan, Brgy. To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, at 9 a.m. yesterday.
Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, Negros Occidental police director, placed the damage at P3 million, based on the initial investigation of the Himamaylan City police.
Lirazan, however, said he is not inclined to believe that the suspects are members of the NPA, as one of them was identified as a disgruntled former worker of the company, based on the testimony of a witness.
