A two-day business planning activity for workforce development is ongoing at Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City, a Capitol press release said.
The theme of the gathering is “Engaging Public-Private Economic Initiatives in the Bacolod-Talisay-Silay Tourism Circuit.”
The planning activity is geared towards addressing the human resource needs of a competitive tourism sector and to maximize the sector's employment potentials for local citizens, particularly women and poor, the press release said.
Thirty-six participants from the Bacolod-Talisay-Silay Circuit and major implementing partner agencies are attending the activity, it said.
Robert Montemar of Palmas Del Mar and Jojo Vito of the Association of Negros Producers discussed their ideas on Enabling Public-Private Partnerships: Showcasing Local Economic Development Initiatives and the gaps that need to be addressed.
Other speakers were Tim Ticar from the Department of Tourism, Rebecca Rascon from the Department of Trade and Industry and Beverly Insular from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.*
