The four anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in Dumaguete City Monday and yesterday resulted in the confiscation of more than 30 grams of suspected shabu, worth around P400,000.

The Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and National Bureau of Investigation personnel arrested Albert Soreno y Lomoljo, with more than 10 grams of suspected shabu, worth P118,000, during a buy-bust operation Monday in Purok Orchids, Sitio Canday-ong in Dumaguete City.

City intelligence unit of the Dumaguete police arrested Jomar Yusores, with five small sachets believed to contain suspected shabu granules, and a homemade 22 caliber revolver with live ammunition.

Special Operations Group and the city police also nabbed Venancio Los Banos, 27, in a buy-bust operation at the Cadawinonan Housing Project, and seized from him 12.5 grams of suspected shabu, worth P140,000.

Meanwhile, the Negros Oriental Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Dumaguete police confiscated more than 10 grams of suspected shabu from the house of a wanted drug personality in Canday-ong, Calindagan, yesterday morning.

The subject of the warrant of arrest, identified as Anastacio Bardaje, alias “Tasyo”, was able to escape through the exit door, but left behind P150,000 worth of suspected shabu and P4,920 in cash.

Police Officer 3 Roger Salve of the city police and SPO1 Rowino Bayuna of the NOCIDG also recovered from the house of Bardaje 20 live ammunition for 22 caliber revolver, three live ammunition for 22 Magnum caliber revolver, 20 elongated sachets and nine medium-sized sachets containing suspected shabu granules that were placed inside an empty DVD, records show.

Bardaje and his live-in partner, Estela Torres Pactol, are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Regional Trial Court Branch 36 since last year.

Pactol was arrested January this year, while Bardaje remains at large.*JG
