Fujidenso remains on top
in BUS G 50Up cagefest

Fujidenso-BUS G dominated Gators of Alijis Basketball Club, 87-69, then clobbered the Blazers of Team Meliton, 88-65, to register back-to-back wins in the 50Up group of the 2015 Sharp-Basketball Unified Sports Group Invitationals at JGC gym at Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City, a press release from the organizers said.

Also posting an overwhelming victory was the Mangkas of La Carlota City, who routed Saturday Men's Club napping , 93-61, to register the team's second win after eight games.

In the 50Up tussle, the older Fujidenso Huskies relied on Nene Sibaya's prolific shooting in the first half for a to take control of the game with a 50-37 halftime margin against Alijis, the press release said.

Sibaya got support from center Rey de Guzman, who scored 20 points, while Toto Plagata hit 12 and Edgar Basco and Melvin Baclay with 11 points each.

Bobby Regalado was the only double figure scorer for the Alijis Gators with 12 points as they trailed 59-75 at the end of third quarter.

Against Team Meliton of Talisay, Baclay hit five triples while Sibaya tallied 15 while playing point guard in the absence of Ireneo Morales.

Adrian Melocoton scored four successive 3-pointers as Vic Duenas collected 10 of his 14 markers in the final quarter while de Guzman chipped in 10 points.

The Blazers never had the chance after trailing 26-51 at half even if the trio of Pagulong-Quinlat-Belonio combined for 34 points. Meliton dropped to 5-3 following Alijis' 5-2 and Fujidenso's 9-1 record, the press release said.

The top four teams will advance to a crossover semifinal where the top two teams enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage.

Game this Saturday will be between Team Meliton and Tangub at 4:30 p.m. while on July 5 Mangkas collides with Alijis at 3p.m. and at 6 p.m. the Blazers meet SAMEC.*
