New NOLITC
graduates hired by BPOs

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday lauded the 64 graduates of the Training for Work Scholarship Program of the provincial government, some of whom have already been hired.

They were hired by the Business Process Outsourcing partners of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center, such as Transcom and Convergys, a NOLITC press release said.

Twenty-six graduated from the 840-hour 2D Animation Training NC III and the rest from the 144-hour Contact Center Services Training NC II at NOLITC and the culmination ceremony was held at the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City, the press release added.

Present during the culmination ceremony were NOLITC head, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido and Kagawad Roberto Quirit of Brgy. 4, Kabankalan City, among others.

NOLITC is the first and only government-run language and information technology center in Western Visayas, accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the press release said.

It provides quality training and job opportunities to the out-of-school youth, high school graduates, college drop-outs and unemployed college graduates, it added.*
