Typhoon Egay damage to crops, fisheries and farm animals in Negros Occidental hit P25,548,495 million, a report from the office of the Provincial Agriculturist showed.
The total damage to crops and fisheries was P25,122,925, Provincial Agriculturist Igmedio Tabianan said, in a final report on the damage caused by Typhoon Egay.
Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena earlier placed Egay damage for farm animals in Negros Occidental at P425,570.
Tabianan in his final report submitted to Gov. Alfredo Marañon said the P25.1 million damage to crops and fisheries in the province affected 23 towns and cities in Negros Occidental and 2,541 farmers and fisherfolk.
Palay, corn and vegetable damage was P23,793,405.50 covering 2,441.18 hectares and affecting 2,455 farmers in 23 local government units, Tabianan said.
Damage to fisheries was P1,329,520 affecting six boats and 82 fishing gear affecting 86 fisherfolk in Sipalay City, San Enrique, Valladolid and Pulupandan, Tabianan added.*CPG
