Governor Roel Degamo said his administration remains focused on addressing the basic needs of the people, in improving the quality of life of Negrenses, and the Technical-Vocational Education Training is one of the programs, in partnership with Tesda.
Now on its 15 th year, the PISTC has sent hundreds of skilled workers abroad with an annual budget of P2,250,000, Degamo said.
PISTC point person, Edgar Calumpong, stressed the importance of graduating in a skills training program with the highest certification issued by Tesda, which is NC-2, especially for job opportunities abroad.
In fact, a number of students who have finished courses in nursing, and even nurses and teachers are taking up technical and vocational courses to be able to acquire an NC-2 certification. Some took up technical and vocational courses, in preparation for the K to 12 basic education program of the government, where NC-2 teachers are required.*PNA
