‘Laudato Si' presented
The presentation of Pope Francis' environmental encyclical Laudato Si was held at the St. John Mary Vianney Hall of the San Sebastian Cathedral pastoral complex in Bacolod City, recently.
Among those in attendance were Frank Carbon, president of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arnel Lapore - president of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Juriel Panoy, grade 10 student of La Consolacion College representing the young students, and Wilmon Peñalosa, Negros Occidental Provincial Environment Management Officer.
Fr. Naring de la Cruz, parochial vicar, asked the faithful to understand and listen to the message of Pope Francis about the environment. He said it takes courage to make a stand on the relevant issues presented by the Pope.
Fr. Felix Pasquin, rector of the Bacolod San Sebastian Cathedral, challenged the audience of the forum on Francis' ‘Encyclical' to do more in healing the environment and the earth.
The main objective of the forum was to present the Pope's encyclical on issues involving climate change and global warming.*
Remember: Each new day gives us new reasons to praise the Lord. Praying for others is a privilege and a responsibility.
