One more dies at ‘death curve'
BY SHIELA GELERA

Another person died when his tricycle hit a concrete post at what is known as the “death curve” at Gonzaga Extension, Doña Juliana Subdivision in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, at about 11:20 p.m. Sunday.

The fatality was identified as tricycle driver Rodrigo Malfetria Jr., 36, of Homesite in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod, a police report said.

Malfetria, who was driving a red Bajaj motorcycle with sidecar, was travelling east of Gonzaga Extension and hit the concrete post at the curve, a police traffic investigation report said.

Malfetria sustained serious injuries in his head and body and was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician, Dr. Christian Marie Magno, the report said.

The police also reported that Malfetria was observed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

Several persons have died or were injured in accidents at the Gonzaga Extension “death curve”, mostly due to over speeding.*SGG
