PNoy okay
needed for new BM
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The nomination by the Nationalist People's Coalition of former Board Member Angelito Colmenares to replace its slain member, Renato Malabor, as representative of the 5th District in the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan needs the approval of President Benigno Aquino III, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday.

This means Colmenares cannot sit on the provincial board until that happens, he said, adding that the NPC has to send his nomination to the Office of the President for approval first.

Malabor, 55, and his bodyguard, Leody Jomilla, 52, were killed by a lone gunman in Isabela, Negros Occidental, on June 28.moremoremore

IN DUMAGUETE
Proposed poultry farm hits setback
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Bajumpandan Barangay Council expressed apprehension on the poultry farm proposed to be established in the barangay in Dumaguete City.

The 5,000-head poultry farm was proposed in Purok Kasagingan near the slaughterhouse in the city by businessman Silverio Cruz, whose representative, Roy Alcantara, appeared during the regular session of the barangay to shed light on the proposal recently.

Alcantara, however, could not present the details on the design and the technology to be used in the poultry farm, and he was required to be present during the next session of the barangay. He said the endorsement of the barangay is necessary in the processing of the permits, including the Environmental Compliance Certificate. .moremoremore
