Almost P1 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered yesterday by a combined team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the local police from a suspect they arrested at the Kadalag-an Village in Brgy. 13, Victorias City,Negros Occidental.
Supt. Santiago Rapiz, Victorias City police chief, yesterday said the buy-bust operation led to the arrest of Jesus Baja Verdeflor, 78, and the recovery of 126.25 grams of suspected shabu worth P1 million.
The recovery of about P1 million worth of shabu came a week after the police also recovered 299.28 grams of shabu, with street value of P1.8 million, from five arrested suspects in Himamaylan City, last week.
Two weeks ago, the PDEA also recovered P800,000 worth of shabu in Brgy. 40, Bacolod City. This was on top of the P1.2 million worth of shabu recovered by the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Force from a taxi driver, in coordination with the Bacolod City Police Office.
The shabu taken from Verdeflor reportedly originated from Metro Manila, Rapiz said.
Verdeflor is now detained at the Victorias City Police Station jail.
The PDEA operatives were led by Ronnie Delicana, PDEA assistant regional director for Western Visayas.*GPB
