A 16-year-old first year college student was molested and killed yesterday in Hacienda Buenretiro 2, Brgy. Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, police said.

The victim, identified as Marrisa Parreño, a freshman college student in Silay City, was found dead in a creek, with hematomas on her cheek, eyes and shoulder, SPO2 Marlin Necesario, chief of the Talisay City Police Women and Children Protection Desk, said.

Initial investigations of the Talisay police showed that the victim had no underwear and her blouse was open, when she was found by a resident of the area, in a creek.

Her underwear, umbrella and shoes were recovered several meters away from the crime scene.

Before the incident, Necesario said a witness noticed the presence of three unidentified men, who were wearing jackets and bonnets, in the area.

Necesario said she believes that the victim may have been waylaid by her assailants.

Results of the autopsy showed a laceration on the private part of the victim, she added.

Police investigations showed that the victim left their home at about 9 a.m. yesterday. She was found dead about 30 minutes later, Necesario said.

The Talisay police are calling on residents in the area to report any information they may have in connection with the molestation and killing of the victim.*GPB
