USLS wins
Aspirants volley crown

Young spikers from University of St. La Salle- Integrated School prevailed over University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 25-15, 25-16 in the championship match yesterday to capture the title in the NOPSSCEA Aspirants Volleyball competition at the USLS-IS Covered Court.

The Recoletos team earned the right to challenge frontrunner USLS-IS after beating St. Theresita's Academy of Silay City 25-22, 23-25 and 25-23 earlier. The team from Silay settled for third place.

In the girls’ category, St. John’s Institute topped the Bracket A and earned a twice-to-beat advantage in the final after stopping Bracket B No. 1 team STA, 25-21, 25-8 yesterday.

The SJI girls completed the elimination round unscathed by demolishing Trinity Christian School, 25-12, 25-8 at the start of the quarterfinals.

STA, meanwhile, barged into the finals and earned the right to challenge SJI for the girls’ Aspirants crown by dismissing USLS-IS in the semifinal, 25-18, 25-23.

The USLS girls settled for third place while Living Stone International School secured the fourth spot.*NAB
