Bacolod’s resort-hotel Palmas Del Mar recently celebrated the day of hearts and the start of its 20th anniversary.

Everyone was in high spirits that day, with resort manager Minnie Lizares-Ruaro and family members greeting the guests as they arrive. The Palm Groove Garden was decked in an all-hearts Valentine themed décor, and the Pergola area had smaller tables that catered to couples. A couple even booked “The Island” for a more private wedding proposal that night, where the groom-to-be received a happy “Yes!” from the love of his life. A lot of happy memories were made that day.

Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous buffet dinner, while a band entertained the diners with jazz and Bossa Nova music. By 10 p.m., the romantic ambiance was livened up with an after-dinner party by DJ Miguel Rojas. Cocktail drinks were on the house, to the delight of everyone present.

The place is a subdivision and resort owned by the Lizares family, under the DAALCO Development Corporation. The resort was recently recognized by The Trip Advisor as one of the 2015 Traveler’s Choice Top 25 hotels for families in the Philippines.*
