SJI ,STA spikers eye Aspirants title

St. John’s Institute and St. Theresita Academy of Silay will face each other on Saturday to contest the volleyball girls’ title of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association at the University of St. La Salle Covered Court.

The SJI girls, with a twice-to-beat advantage on their side, hope to extend their win streak against STA whom they beat in the semifinals, 25-21, 25-8.

The STA squad, however, will not be an easy prey as the squad secured the No. 1 spot in Bracket B after the elimination and went on to beat USLS-is in the semifinals, 25-18, 25-23 to arrange a titular showdown with SJI.

De La Hoya advices Pacquiao
to `fight angry’ vs. Mayweather

Retired boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya thinks Manny Pacquiao should “fight angry” if he wants to beat Floyd Mayweather in their much-awaited showdown on May 2.

“Pacquiao needs to fight this fight angry,” De La Hoya told ESPN Deportes. “He has to attack and throw a lot of punches. He can’t get tired. He has to use his feet to move laterally. He has to use his angles. If he does that, he has a good chance to win.”

While most fans are expecting a close fight, De La Hoya believes that the excitement of the bout relies only on Pacquiao,  whether he would display his speed and attacking prowess against Mayweather.
