College of St. Benilde emerged as the overall NCAA champion in the seniors' division for the second straight season while San Beda College ran away with its fifth general championship in the high school section.
The Blazers won just two titles in men's table tennis and men's beach volleyball but made up for it by finishing second in men's and women's swimming, women's taekwondo, women's table tennis, men's volleyball and ending up third in chess, women's volleyball, football and soft tennis.
Overall, St. Benilde amassed 660 points, besting a field headed by San Beda, Arellano University and Emilio Aguinaldo College, which finished second, third and fourth places, respectively.
San Beda ended up winning the most titles with victories in basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's taekwondo, women's table tennis, football and soft tennis but managed only 568.5 points, which was good for second overall.
It made up though for its victory in the high school division where it accumulated a league best 400 points, besting St. Benilde's 322.5.
Letran, EAC and San Sebastian wound up second to fifth spots.
The Cubs won in basketball, table tennis and lawn tennis, ended up second in swimming, badminton and football and third in chess and taekwondo.*PNA
