Sharp II won the championship in the premiere division, and Davies VIII and Tiger Eye the non-rated and women’s category of the 2015 Top’s Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.
Consolation prize winners were NPBC RJ Stars (Class A category); Sanyo (Non-rated men), and Panasonic (Women).
Melchor Semillano of Joe’s Team beat Canvil’s Ulysses Pacheco in men’s group while Reanne Reboton of RJ Stars NPBC grabbed the title in women’s bracket, in the master bowler competition.
Sharp II won the title in the premiere division by defeating Canvil Knights, 342-335.
The members of the winning squad were Rommel Agupitan, Rey “Spitfire” Bala-an, Art Palo and Isok Villarosa, while Canvil was represented by Ulysses “Roadrunner” Pacheco, Elmer Libo-on and Wilson Casas.
Sharp I and Metro Sales was second and third runners-up.
Meanwhile, the Davies VIII bowlers composed of Edgar Jerez, Munching Guinson, Bebe Gaton and Marlon Jochico won the class B title by beating frontrunner Candles Knights in their deciding match, 306-293. They defeated the Knights in their first encounter in the final, 300-293.
The losing team consisted of Melot Alimon, Allan T, and Rey Bello.
Seeded No.2, Davies will challenge the top seed by ripping FRM Sharp in the semi-final, 328-294.
Joe’s Team was second runner-up.
In the women’s division, Tiger Eye that Condura II and won the women’s crown and the top prize at stake.
The champion team included Suzette Morales, Carmen Romales, Jozel Balontong, and Jumilyn De la Cruz, while Tess Robles, Precy Pillo, and Cheryl Ramos played for Condura ASSFBI.
ASSFBI Condura I and RJ Stars NPBC were second and third runners-up.
Sharp II and Metro Sales had the team’s highest single and triple in the men’s division with 406 and 1,102 apiece, while Tiger Eye in the distaff side with 393 and 1,044.
The individual record holders were Lyndon Reyes of Joe’s Team in highest pinning with 96, and Nena King of Panasonic in the women’s bracket with 95.
Canvil Knight’s bet Wilson Casas had the men’s single and triple with 161 and 407.
Carmen Romales of Tiger Eye and Sylvia Del Rosario of Condura led the women’s single and triple with 152 and 391 each.
The top four of the tournament’s top 10 players in two divisions were Melchor Semillano, Nonoy Hulguin, Reymund Lopez and Ulysses Pacheco in the men’s bracket; and Reanne Reboton, Tess Robles, Juliet Regollo and Rowena Juarez.*HLG
