Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion is back as officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The designation of Nacion as officer-in-charge of the NOPPO, which took effect yesterday, was confirmed by Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, regional police director of Western Visayas.
Nacion was initially designated as NOPPO officer-in-charge on April 22. A day after, however, the Police Regional Office 6 recalled his appointment order for still unknown reason.
Yesterday, Angan said the position vacated by Nacion as officer-in-charge of the Capiz Police Provincial Office will soon be occupied but he did not name the incoming Capiz police officer-in-charge.
The change of the NOPPO top leadership came after Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan retired on April 19. His position was temporarily occupied for 10 days by his deputy, Supt. Jerry Bartolome, who is the deputy provincial police director for Administration.
Nacion, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class 1992, was assigned in Negros Occidental as police chief of Salvador Benedicto town , several years after he graduated from the police academy.
Before his present position, he had served as chief of the Boracay Special Protection Office, officer-in-charge of the Aklan Police Provincial Ofice, chief of the Regional Operation Plans and Division of the Police Regional Office 6 and officer-in-charge of the Capiz Police Provincial Office. The name of Nacion is not included in the list of nominees submitted by Angan to Governor Alfredo Marañon, for the vacant position of NOPPO director.
Marañon had earlier recommended Supt. William Senoron for the position.
But the promotion of Señoron to senior superintendent has that yet been approved and signed by Napolcom chairman and concurrent Interior and Local Government secretary Mar Roxas, and also needs the concurrence of President Benigno Aquino III. * GPB
