MANILA –- Four oil companies will increase pump prices of gasoline by 95 centavos per liter and diesel by 65 centavos per liter today.
Seaoil Philippines Inc., Petron Corp. and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines will implement the price hike at 6 a.m. while PTT Philippines at 12:01 a.m, both today.
Petron and Seaoil will also increase their kerosene product prices by 50 centavos per liter.


Mayor okay to Manokan dialog
Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella is willing to meet with Social Action Center director Fr. Ernie Larida and other members of the clergy to discuss the proposed sale of the Manokan Country in the presence of Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra, Bacolod City Administrator Rolando Villamor said yesterday.
Villamor said Larida wrote them in behalf of the Manokan Country Vendors Association, asking the city not to pursue its plan to sell the property but only to renovate or improve the Manokan Country. According to Larida the move will dislocate several occupants of the city's landmark.
Puentevella is bent on selling the Manokan Country and if the plan pushes through, its tenants will be provided temporary structures along Fr. Ferrero Street just behind the BAYS Center, he said


NFSP provides more
technical skills training
The National Federation of Sugarcane Planters Training Center recently turned out its 38 th Batch of graduates since it started providing livelihood and technical skills training to sugar farm workers and their dependents in 2002.
The graduation rite was held at the NFSP Training Center Social Hall at NFSP Compound, Alijis, Bacolod City, a press release from NFSP said yesterday.
Operated by the NFSP Sugar Workers Foundation chaired by NFSP president Enrique Rojas, the training center has been providing free training to its beneficiaries in short-term, highly employable courses, such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding NCII, Automotive Servicing NCII, Electrical Installation and Maintenance and Computer Operation, Servicing and Maintenance.
