A Technical Working Group will be formed by the Bacolod City government to study the site of the new South Bound Terminal of the city.
Councilor Alex Paglumotan, chairman of the Sangguniang Panglugnsod Committee on Transportation, said yesterday that the group will be headed by Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella, but if it is convened, the city council should pass an Ordinance that lays down the guidelines for the establishment of the New South Bound Terminal of Bacolod City that is now on second reading.
The ordinance was authored by Paglumotan and Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. Under the proposal, the possible sites for the new Southbound Transport Terminal of Bacolod City are in Barangays Sum-ag, Tangub, Pahanocoy, Alijis or Punta-Taytay.

Residents of Brgy. Santa Rosa in Murcia dislocated by the establishment of the Negros First Ranch in the place, and received decent homes last year also got livelihood assistance yesterday from the provincial government and the 303rd Infantry Brigade.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Brig. Gen. Jon Aying, 303rd Infantry Brigade commanding general, led the distribution of P60,000 worth of piglets and a carabao to 11 families, in line with the Negros First Army Wellness Farm and Livestock dispersal program.
The provincial government also provided the relocated families with a chicken multiplier machine or incubator, for mass production of chicken and ducks.


DOST needs researchers
The Department of Science and Technology Food and Nutrition Research Institute is looking for field researchers to provide accurate, relevant and timely data, DOST Negros Occidental Director, Alan Francis Daraug, said yesterday.
Daraug said the hiring of new field researchers is in connection with the 2015 Updating of the Nutritional Status of Filipino children and other population groups starting July 2015.
He said the updating survey is a designed statistical activity that will generate critical data for policy decisions of government and private sectors.
