DOST needs researchers

The Department of Science and Technology Food and Nutrition Research Institute is looking for field researchers to provide accurate, relevant and timely data, DOST Negros Occidental Director, Alan Francis Daraug, said yesterday.

Daraug said the hiring of new field researchers is in connection with the 2015 Updating of the Nutritional Status of Filipino children and other population groups starting July 2015.

He said the updating survey is a designed statistical activity that will generate critical data for policy decisions of government and private sectors.

He added that, through the years, the survey has evolved and expanded its coverage to cover more government programs to address the growing needs of the different stake holders in these sectors.

The survey is comprised of eight components: anthropology, dietary, socio-economics, food insecurity, government program participation, clinical and health, infant and young child feeding practices and maternal health.

Meanwhile, those are interested to become field researchers should be BS Nutrition and Dietetics, BS Nutrition or BS Nursing graduate with or without a Professional Regulation Commission license, and willing to undergo training May 25 to June 12 at the DOST Region 7 office in Lahug, Cebu City.

Applicants may submit their personal data sheet with 2x2 picture to Zenaida Isada through email address zenaidaisada@yahoo.com or may text 09085304861.*APN
