Murcia, Team Meliton
eye 2nd win in BUS G

Powerhouse Murcia Basketball Athletic Club will go for its second win when it collides with Alijis Basketball Club at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday's quadruple-header in the 2015 Sharp-Basketball Unified Sports Group 40/50 Invitational tournament at JGC Gym here at Goldenfield Commercial Complex, a press release from BUS G said.

MuBAC, 93-81, winner over Negros Basketball Group in the opening day, is favorite to prevail as the ABC Gators fell prey to Team Meliton, 82-78, in the 40 Up division.

ABC's 50 Uppers, which prevailed over Team Meliton, 84-80, will face BUS Group at 1 p.m. with the Huskies looking to start its campaign right, the press release said.

At 2:30 pm Team Meliton will be tested by La Carlota City 50 Up while its younger teammates collide at 4 p.m. with the Blazers. La Carlota is reported to be veterans-laden, the press release said.

Tournament committee chair Bing Soyao decided to cancel Saturday's schedule due to La Carlota's championship match in a La Castellana league.

Tournament format in both categories call for a double round robin elimination, a crossover semifinal and knockout final.

Teams are allowed a maximum of 18 players with only 15 to play every standard game. At stake are trophies and cash prizes at the end of the league estimated to last end of July, the press release said.

Saturday Men's Club of Montevista led by Buddy Ferrer has yet to see action, the press release added. *
